Our professional decorators have over 20 years experience in the
wedding cake industry. Visit our shop to view wedding cakes in
our window display and to peruse through our cake albums, or
you can bring in your own ideas or photos and clippings from
magazines. We'll custom design just what our looking for.
Everything from modern to traditional, or "sweet and
simple" to "grandeur" in size.
Floral accents are a popular choice to decorate the cake.
They can be made of buttercream, gumpaste, fondant,
silk or fresh. If flowers aren't your thing, then how about
fondant bows with tails or fondant swags to adorn the cake?Want a
modern twist? Add color to your cake by icing each layer in tinted
buttercream or fondant. Graphic designs are real big now with each
tier in a different design. Stacked cakes are very popular as are
the traditonal tiers. Add a fountain to enhance the setting or try tealights on and around the cake to set the mood. Beautiful during
an evening reception. You don't have to stick with the
traditional bride and groom topper either. Try bows, floral
arrangements, cake "jewelry", monogramms, statues, whatever fits
your taste. We don't sell toppers, but there are a variety of web
sites to help you out. Try www.theknot.com.
It is appropriate to order your wedding cake 3-6 months in
advance. Please contact us to check for availability.Your wedding cake can be ordered as little as 2 weeks in advance, but the date
may not be available. We suggest you order your wedding cake
as soon as possible, especially for the month of June, but no more
than 1 year in advance.
When you are ready to decide, schedule an appointment for
your consultation. You will be able to try up to three complimentary samples of the cake and/or fillings of your
choice, and consult with our decorators to design your cake. You should bring information that we may need, to place your order, such as any photos or magazine clippings of a cake you'd like us to duplicate or design from, swatches of colors we may need to match,
the reception locations phone number and contact person, florist
name and phone number, etc. If you would like to reserve your
wedding cake date and pick out your final design at another time, a
25% deposit will be necessary. This is of course put towards
your balance, but it will reserve your date so we can
guarantee your order. It is suggested to do so for the busy
months of April, May, June, September and October. You may then
have more time to pick out your cake design. Delivery is
included to the Downriver area, but there may be a delivery/set-up fee if outside our delivery area or if the cake design
requires additional work in set-up at the hall.
Pricing is available in our wedding cake brochure available in
our shop. You can call us at 313-382-2253 and we can mail you a brochure or e-mail us at sweet.nothings@sbcglobal.net and we will e-mail
you one. We are sorry, but we will not list pricing on our
website. A 25%
deposit is required at the time you place your order. The
balance must be paid in full, two weeks prior to the date. If any
changes are to be made to the serving size/design , please notify
us at least two weeks before the date. We will do
everything we can to accomodate your requests, but we can not
guarantee it, after that time.
We hope our website answers many questions you may have. We look forward to meeting with you and
thank you for visiting Sweet Nothings' website!
